Extensions

Rear extensions, side extensions and internal expansion - including the structural work that sits underneath.

What the work involves

An extension usually means part of the rear elevation comes out. That wall is load-bearing, so a structural frame takes its place - often a double or L-shaped portal, because load is picked up in two directions.

After that comes the conventional build: foundation for the new section, superstructure, roof, facade and the junction with the existing house.

When you bring us in

For expansion at the rear of a property. For a side extension going onto its own foundation.

And for projects where a contractor wants to subcontract the structural element to a crew that can calculate and install the portal.

How we deliver it

Structural work leads: prop, remove the elevation, set and fix the portal. Only then does the superstructure continue.

The junction between existing and new is where leaks start. We resolve that detail before anything is built.
