What the work involves
Replacing a roof is rarely just replacing the covering. Once the old build-up is off, the condition of the structure underneath becomes visible - and in older buildings it's regularly worse than expected.
We replace both the covering and the load-bearing structure below it: rafters, purlins and trusses, in timber or reinforced with steel where the span demands it.
When you bring us in
For a roof at the end of its service life. For leaks that local repair no longer resolves.
For deflecting rafters or decayed timber. For a roof addition or dormer where the existing structure needs strengthening.
How we deliver it
We assess the structure as soon as the old build-up is off and report what we find before going further - no surprises on the final account.
Where the existing timber can no longer carry the load, we reinforce with steel rather than heavier timber. Less construction depth, more capacity.
